The Late Lee Radziwill's Upper East Side Apartment Lists for $5.7M

Jackie O’s younger sister Lee Radziwill, a fashion icon and interior designer, passed away in February and now her longtime Manhattan residence is on the market. While the stylish socialite relished in spending time at her Paris pied-à-terre and traveling the world, this Upper East Side apartment was her home base for 30 years, according to the Wall Street Journal. Just listed a few days ago, you better act quick if you want to buy this prestigious unit asking $5.7 million.

There are apartments in New York asking far more than this that cant offer anything close to the history this home holds. With many friends in high places, there’s no telling who may have had dinner here or dropped in for afternoon tea.

What a buyer does know is that the traditional interiors are light-filled and sophisticated. It boasts its own floor with a private elevator in the 1920s building located at 160 East 72nd Street, just a couple blocks from Central Park and close to luxurious Upper East Side fine dining. Privacy is guaranteed as well as 3 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, and ample room for entertaining thanks to a 31-foot living room with a wood-burning fireplace.

Mary K. Rutherfurd and Leslie R. Coleman of Brown Harris Stevens have the prestigious listing. Rutherfurd told the WSJ that everything has been left exactly as Radziwill had it, with piles of magazines and books galore, so a new owner can feel uniquely connected to the late socialite.
