The Most Expensive Martha’s Vineyard Rental Ever Seen Has Listed for $1M/Month

Massachusetts vacation spots like Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket have long been getaways for the elite, providing beautiful beachfront living in a quaint island setting. A new rental has come onto the market just in time for the warmer weather, but it is available at an unprecedented price. Asking $1,000,000 per four week period, the waterfront compound is now the priciest rental ever offered on Martha’s Vineyard.

Sat right along Menemsha Pond, the nearly five-acre property was built back in 2012 and displays that worn, shingled look with modern twists inside. Across the compound there’s the main house, pool house, and even a writer’s cottage, perfect for drawing inspiration from the stunning views around. Immense walls of glass soak all the structures in light and stunning water views, providing a real sense of place and easily putting guests in that vacation mindset.

There’s no way to cover every beautiful feature of this home, but some of the quick facts of the main house include a first floor primary suite with two ensuite bathrooms, as well as eight other bedrooms with their own bathrooms. A stunning outdoor area can accommodate up to 20 guests at the table, plus holds a built-in Kalamazoo grill and pizza oven, a wooden bar, a stone fire pit, and two built-in Tucci umbrellas for maximum outdoor enjoyment. While there isn’t an outdoor pool per se, the pool house feels like a true spa with an indoor heated pool and a spa as well as walls of glass that completely open to the fresh air.

Other amenities on the property include a full-service fitness center featuring workout machines from Technogym and Peloton, a sauna, and even an indoor basketball court. From the home, there’s access to a 115-foot dock, and even three different boats for rent.

Samantha Morel of Sotheby’s International Realty represents the pricey home-for-now on the market. The Obamas famously own a home on the island and Diane Sawyer just sold her MV estate last year, so the locale is sprinkled with prestige.
