The Obamas' New House Is Getting Some Major Security Upgrades

The Obamas' new house in the Kalorama neighborhood of Washington, D.C.The Obamas won’t be going far when they leave the White House; the outgoing First Family has rented a $5.3M mansion in the ritzy Kalorama section of Washington, D.C. (only 2 blocks from Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner's new house) and plan to stay in the city until youngest child Sasha finishes high school. Their new house is pretty impressive—boasting 9 bedrooms and bathrooms, an oversized terrace and private gardens—but PopSugar reports that it is getting some upgrades to prepare for its new residents. Ironically enough, the update includes building a brick wall outside the house to protect the family's privacy. In addition, the garage will be converted into a home office with an additional bathroom. Perhaps the new home office will be for Michelle, since Barack Obama is leasing office space at the World Wildlife Fund headquarters.
