Nantucket is known for its stunning beaches, charming towns, and beautiful, luxury homes. Just this past fall, Barstool Sports founder and owner Dave Portnoy set a new Massachusetts real estate record after purchasing a $42 million masterpiece once featured in CTC&G. While that’s an especially steep example, many price tags on the posh New England island aren’t for the everyday buyer. Or, at least, this beautiful compound newly listed for $14.495 million isn’t.
Shingle-style splendor and vacation vibes meld at this island getaway, which seems perfect to use as a family meeting point for all the generations. It has a custom three-bedroom main house, a three-bedroom guest cottage, a pool, a pool cabana with a half bathroom, and a two-car garage with a studio apartment. The cottage and garage on the property were built in the 1980s but were renovated when the main house was built in 2015. Everything executed in 2015 was done with the help of Luke Thornewill at Thornewill Architecture and designer and local resident Tanya McQueen Forman, who you may recognize from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
The main home features nautical accents and cool, beachy tones to tie into the coastal location. The kitchen features an accent wall of blue tiles and light fixtures that resemble boat lanterns, really honing in on the theme of the home. The living features a striking floor-to-ceiling fireplace that is covers with beach shells. Beyond the standout, eye-catching elements, even the subtle blue fabrics or white wood panels found throughout both homes enhance the home’s cohesive aesthetic.
Located just minutes from Surfside Beach, the one-acre property is certainly a dream residence for those who want to host plenty of visitors and spend months by the sea. Micheal Passaro and Holly Parker of Douglas Elliman share the listing.
