Architect Maziar Behrooz’s contemporary design in East Hampton lured owners Robert Stansel and Tammy Marek all the way from Portland, Oregon. The landscaping, by Bayberry in Amagansett, conceals a sunken access ramp to the walk-out basement.
A bisque-yellow Natuzzi sectional in the open-plan living room complements a coffee table and rug designed by Stansel.
In the dining area, a custom-designed chandelier from Ochre hangs above a Roche Bobois table. Chairs are from Girard Furniture. The white ash cabinetry in the kitchen is from Neff. Ann Sacks limestone floor tiles were installed by William Roy Designer Kitchens.
George pendant lights from Shine Design & Distribution hang in the kitchen, where four Bob chairs by Walter Knoll surround a vintage glass and steel dining table in the breakfast nook.
In the foreground, a concrete slab and glass panels demarcate a stairwell to the lower level. The Stairmasters treads on the floating staircase are made from Oregon black walnut; the artwork on the wall is by Jasmina Danowski.
The master bathroom features Hansgrohe hardware, custom tile and counter slabs from Alan Court, and Grains of Wood cabinetry. The tub is Valli + Valli.
Work by Jasmina Danowski, Hidden Depths III, hangs above a Roche Bobois bed in the master bedroom. Flooring is by Goby Walnut & Western Hardwoods.
The rooftop garden above the garage was designed by Green Living Technologies.
