Toy Mogul Shells Out $15M for an Upper East Side Penthouse
Dave Brandon, CEO of Toys “R” Us and chairman of the board at Domino’s Pizza, just shelled out $15.28M for a dazzling penthouse perched atop Extell’s Carlton House in Lenox Hill.
Brandon’s new home could give the Barbie Dreamhouse a run for its money; it features over 3,500 square feet of interior space plus 1,120 square feet of wrap-around terraces and boasts the highest ceilings and largest windows of any unit in the building. A stunning gallery lined with ash paneled walls and polished marble floors sets the tone for the entire space, which was renovated and redesigned by Katherine Newman Design in a neutral palette with luxe finishes. Entertaining spaces include the gracious living and dining rooms as well as the professionally appointed chef’s kitchen, which features polished stone floors and countertops and custom cabinetry finished in a high-gloss lacquer. The master suite is a restful retreat and includes a private terrace overlooking Central Park as well as a windowed, marble-clad master bathroom.
