What's In Store?
Creative home accessories, illuminating fixtures, and a state of the art cooktop are among new products we've found while out shopping.
Formerly available only online and from designers, the chic furniture and home accessories of Dwell Studio are now open to the public in a new flagship store. Designer Christiane Lemieux 's unique mix of antiques and original designs fuse modern features with luxurious details. Her signature objects are displayed on gun- metal gray cabinets, beige linen dividers and on the glossy white brick walls of the 3,000-square-foot storefront on Wooster Street in SoHo.
Geometric rugs, throws, and bookcases and playful white felt wall-mounted "trophy" goat heads are interspersed with an antique wooden bed bench and vintage books. Nestled porcelain diamond cut art bowls in silver, gold and diamond finishes, tilted candleholders and silver sea urchins are among the tempting wares.

Almost with a mind of its own, Gaggenau's CX491 full-surface cooktop remembers the shape of the pan you're cooking in and follows it around the surface generating the correct cooking temperature you've selected. Up to 4 pieces of cookware can be placed anywhere on the CX 491 cooking surface. If the pots and pans are moved around, the cooktop recognizes the shape and generates heat only where each piece is detected.
Forty-eight closely spaced and staggered micro-inductors generate precise energy efficient temperatures below the ceramic glass-cooking surface. For ease of cooking, temperatures are selected by touch on the extra large TFT display.
