Whitney Houston’s Former Guest House and Recording Studio in New Jersey Asks $1.6M

When the current owners picked up this New Jersey ranch from Whitney Houston in 2010, they kept the recording studio as it was. In its past life serving as the guest house on Houston’s estate, the home must have witnessed at least some of the iconic late singer’s creative endeavors, making it a true piece of music history. Newly listed, and serving up a soundproof work from home space or legendary studio for the musically-inclined buyer, the spread is priced at $1.599 million.

Located in the town of Mendham’s exclusive Oak Knoll neighborhood, about an hour outside of Manhattan, the property spans 5 acres. Larger than most guest homes, it has three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and two half-bathrooms all spread across the single-level residence. Tributes to Houston remain throughout the home, with her portrait watching over the recording studio with a smile.

While one might be hesitant to change anything on the hallowed grounds, the property boasts potential for updates. Those five acres count a tranquil deck, hot tub, and tennis court in addition to the main structure. And yet there’s still room for expansion with things like a pool, outdoor kitchen, or gardens.

Liane Dobson of Kienlen Lattmann Sotheby’s International Realty holds the listing.
