Bethenny Frankel Sells Fabulous SoHo Loft After Multiple Price Cuts
Bethenny Frankel saddened fans when she announced her exit from The Real Housewives of New York last summer, and now the television personality is splitting from her long-time Soho loft as well. Getting a sale took some time for the Bravo star. Frankel first listed the custom apartment in 2017 for $5.25 million and then again in 2019 for $4.375 million. Now, the property has sold for $3.65 million, meaning Frankel took a loss since she paid $4.2 million for it back in 2014.
Located at 22 Mercer Street, the 2,392-square-foot unit is bathed in natural light thanks to beautiful arched windows. Upon entrance, guests are greeted by a state-of-the-art kitchen, elevated separately from the open seating area complete with wood-burning fireplace. Mirrors grace the back wall, elongating the living area and giving off the illusion of additional space. This effect, combined with the soaring 14-foot ceilings, offers a rare example of spaciousness not typically seen in Manhattan real estate.
The two-bedroom, two and a half bathroom loft served to fit the needs of Frankel, especially the master suite. It holds a custom-built walk-in closet necessary for a homeowner whose life (and outfits) are constantly appearing on television screens across the nation.
Frankel is fully equipped in handling the inner workings of real estate. She has made ventures both in and out of the Big Apple market, notably listing a stunning Bridgehampton spread with interiors styled similarly to her SoHo unit. Frankel also teamed up with Fredrik Eklund of Million Dollar Listing where they found success flipping properties. With her keen eye for real estate, it will be exciting to see what type of abode the former housewife gravitates toward next.
Leonard Steinberg of Compass held the bright, SoHo listing and politely declined to comment on the sale.
