Betty White’s Longtime LA Residence Sells Quickly and for Over Its Asking Price

The LA home that Betty White owned for over 50 years, and spent her final moments within, listed this April and has already sold. Unsurprisingly, for over the asking price, too. Earlier this year, the Carmel retreat the late Hollywood icon built had a similar experience on the market. These residences the star held and cherished until her passing at the end of December 2021 are gems indeed, and now securely in new hands before it’s even the height of summer.

When it comes to White’s LA homestead, tucked in the traditional and celeb-studded Brentwood neighborhood, the listing’s success is especially noteworthy. That’s because it was asking $10.575 million and purely “being sold for land value,” with no showings of the interiors. Seemingly only based on the exterior and .72-acre grounds with Getty Museum views, it reeled in $10.678 million.

With the deal tied up on June 2, the new owner can now finally explore the 3,029-square-foot house made positively cheerful with yellow shutters. There’s no telling what the nooks and crannies of the interiors hold. Perhaps, if the circa-1952 spaces feel alive with White’s personality or retro inspiration, the buyer will work with the structure. However, building anew is always on the table.

Marlene Okulick of Sotheby’s International Realty held the one-of-a-kind Brentwood listing.
