A Captivating Water Mill Contemporary Previously Featured in HC&G Hits the Market

A home that graced the pages of Hamptons Cottages & Gardens not too long ago has arrived on the market. Featured in the July 15, 2021 issue, the minimalist contemporary marvel remains today as stunning an architectural wonder as they come. Seeking $18.995 million, the sleek estate also has a sweet story built into its foundation.

Created in 2018 by a couple in search of one vacation home for their family to which they could wholly commit (having long held getaways in both Water Mill and Fire Island), the spread needed to serve as a sort of ultimate destination. A two-acre plot in Water Mill won out as the blank canvas, with a 4,200-square-foot potato barn as the only structure around. Sag Harbor-based architect Nicole Adams and Baltimore-based interior designer Jay Jenkins were brought on to design the new home that would occupy the site.

“They wanted a contemporary house, but with a certain level of warmth to it. We wrapped the exterior in horizontal boards of ipe, which weathers to a beautiful antique silver,” Jenkins told HC&G. Also important was an abundance of accommodation for friends and family. Across 12,500 square feet spread and two stories, nine bedrooms, and eight full bathrooms quench this craving.

While the barn went down to accomplish such a feat of design and luxury, the double-height, glass-walled, and gabled entry pays suitable homage. Also outfitted with a gorgeous pool and picturesque grounds, it’s quite the summer retreat. Bespoke Real Estate holds the listing.
