Emilia Clarke Sells Trendy, Architectural Marvel in Venice, California

Instead of living in fictional Westeros like her Game of Thrones character, Emilia Clarke has relished in owning a very real home on the West Coast. That is, until recently. The actress, best known for her fiery turn as Daenerys Targaryen, just sold her Venice, California modern for $4.4 million. An airy and minimalist pad worthy of her no-nonsense character, the stylish house doesn’t harken much to the cold design of the Iron Throne or the chill of the North.

Designed by architecture firm Abramson Teiger, the unique retreat spans 2,817 square feet and includes two bedrooms and three bathrooms. Warm woods mix with polished concrete for a clean yet welcoming aesthetic.

Privacy, style, and light are all emphasized. The two-story abode is shielded from the street by 80-year-old olive trees and gates interweaved with ivy. Inside, a sun-soaked floating staircase ascends to the bedrooms, giving some separation from the trendy areas meant for entertaining. The living room, crowned by 15-foot ceilings, features soaring built-in bookshelves accessed via a sliding ladder. It embraces an open floor concept, flowing into the sleek kitchen with pristine soapstone countertops. Then effortlessly, everything opens to the alluring backyard.

Elegantly and meticulously landscaped, the grounds consist of a courtyard, covered veranda, and 30-foot pool. Abbot Kinney Boulevard is right around the corner and, of course, the beach is nearby. Juliette Hohnen from Douglas Elliman and Ruby Fay of Pinnacle Estate Properties held the English actress’s listing.
