J. Lo Reels in Roughly $34M for Her Gorgeous Bel Air Compound

After picking up an L.A. pad with her new husband, but old flame, Ben Affleck, J. Lo has now successfully parted ways with a lavish Bel Air estate she purchased in 2016 long before the pair reunited. This year, the global triple threat (singer/actress/dancer) was serious about selling as she listed the breathtaking compound first in February for $42.5 million, then swiftly chopped the price to just below $40 million in April. A mystery buyer ended up closing on it for around $34 million.

J. Lo dropped $28 million to buy the swanky home from actress Sela Ward, and it’s easy to see why she was drawn to it. Set behind gates on eight acres, the ultra-private spread is a vision of bucolic beauty in the heart of Bel Air. When it comes to the estate’s style, much like J. Lo’s, you can’t put it in a box. The design is not just French-inspired, just industrial, or just contemporary, but a thoughtful blend brought to life with stone, glass, and chunky casement windows.

The main house and its sweeping network of terraces are certainly the central gathering point, but there is so much more to discover beyond its gracious glass doors. The lushly landscaped grounds reveal a multi-purpose guest house/studio/gym, 100-seat amphitheater, pagoda with a firepit, second guest cottage, and entertainment pavilion with a full kitchen. Perfect for large-scale hosting.

Naturally, there’s something to indulge in for every hobby as well. A private lake with a sandy beach and outdoor shower, an organic vegetable garden, and private trails all make it feel like every day is a rom-com here. Indoor spaces like a library, 30-seat screening room, and massage room continue to elevate the fantasy-like atmosphere. And really, who would expect J. Lo to buy a home that is anything but fabulous?

Brett Lawyer of Carolwood Estates represented the celebrity in the sale, while Lea Porter of The Beverly Hills Estates repped the lucky buyer.
